Register For Pinterest – No Invite Necessary!
In case you haven’t heard the news yet, Pinterest announced this week that anyone can now sign up for an account - without an invite! Yay!
This open registration means Pinterest is about to get a lot of new members and a lot of cool, new pins!
It also means there is officially no excuse for anyone not to get in on the Pinterest action. :)
Are you one of the few who hasn’t tried Pinterest yet? Well, you are missing out on some serious fun. It’s time you started pinning. We promise- you’re going to love it. :)
Wait- Why Is Pinterest Such A Big Deal?
Imagine you’re sitting in the waiting room of your doctor’s office, reading an older issue of your favorite magazine. You see an adorable idea for a children’s birthday party theme. You think, “I need to keep this is mind.” So you tear out the page and throw it in your purse for later.
Or let’s say you see a great recipe online and want to file it away for an upcoming dinner party. You send the link to your personal email account and hope you’ll be able to find it when you need it.
And what about when you catch a beautiful sunset while at the park with your kids? You wish you could share the moment with your friends, so you snap a photo with your smartphone and make a mental note to pull it out at your next coffee date.
We all collect ideas, recipes, and beautiful things that we want to file away for later. But how to you organize them all when they live on your phone, in email archives, and at the bottom of your purse?
When the time comes to make that new recipe, will you really remember where to find it?
…Enter Pinterest.
Whether it’s a DIY decor project on the Young House Love blog, a Rachel Ray recipe, or an inspirational photo- Pinterest lets you “pin” things to remember later.
You can organize your pins on different “boards.” Create all kinds of board categories: recipes, hair styles, smartphone apps, and more. The possibilities are endless.
You can find new ideas by browsing other users’ goodies and “re-pinning” them onto your own boards.
And on top of all that, Pinterest is extremely visual. If you love flipping through the shiny pages of a magazine, you could become addicted to Pinterest. :)
